FAQ -

Cost? How much is that doggy in the window? (Indy far right)
Labradoodles vary in prices. You can buy a pup from anything from £300
up to £2,500. It just depends on what breeder you choose and who you
feel comfortable with. Trust your instincts and always visit the
premises to see how the pup is being reared and check all health tests are
in order...then make your decision based on what you have found. Just
because you might pay top dollar for your pup does not emulate it being any
better than any other. We do not charge more for certain colours, all
my pups are equal.

Grooming?
I groom my two dogs. Their coats can be left to grow very long but
since I prefer my dogs shorter, I clip them every 6 to 8 weeks. I feel
this is much more healthier for them and keeps them matt free. Flynn
and Indy have fabulous coats that do not moult, but they do make for regular
clipping and grooming. Personally, I clip my dogs but I know quite a
few folk who like to scissor them. I have no opinion on what is best.
The coat has been the key for my allergies and keeping them short is
essential for me, especially as Flynn and Indy swim everyday in the sea, it
is imperative for their coats to be short. I do get itchy eyes/skin
when I clip them, but I have simply learned to control it. I wouldn't
have it any other way. Below is a clipped Flynn.

Health Tests?
Health testing is very important when breeding. Health testing "your
stock" will help to eliminate problems that your dog may have later on in
life. Hip Dysplasia, just being one example, is very common in labradoodles, and I know far too
many that have it. Make sure you see the health certificates when
visiting your prospective puppy......I personally do not send Indy's out,
but as a matter of course, they are here for my puppy owners to see.
It doesn't guarantee your pup not ever to have problems but can go a long
way to help eradicate any problems in the future.
There are actually some breeders who "scan" results to prospective buyers,
this is of no real use as documents can and have been doctored by the
unscrupulous breeders out there....it could be any dog/could have any
result/or may just be a blank form...always ask to see the certificates when
visiting, there are no excuses and scanning them is not a full proof way.
Always see the full original forms of BOTH parents when visiting.
Australian....or not?
No, we breed UK Labradoodles only. There is no difference in the
"Australian Labradoodle" to the UK Labradoodle, apart from the price. Having a pup at thousands does not emulate it being any
better than any other. It seems that most of the imported dogs from
Australia and the US are turning out to be mostly "poodles".....do your
homework properly, ask for proof of what your buying.....ask to see the
pedigree, and go with your instinct.
